Zimbabwe Sunshine Group strategy delivers dividends

THE Zimbabwe Sunshine Group (ZSG) says the strategy pursued since establishment back in 2007 has paid off , resulting in the brand becoming a force of reckon across the region.

The ZSG is a non- profit assembly of young people who desire to see good waste management standards being implemented and lobby for environmental conservation.

Speaking during a recent Strategic Planning Workshop, ZSG Advisory Board Chairperson, and Tariro Charera-Chipepera hailed the group’s strategy for catapulting the brand to greater heights within Zimbabwe and beyond the borders.

She said the numerous awards and partnerships which the ZSG  such as the German Embassy – Development of the inaugural infrastructure project at the Harare Show grounds, Global Green Grants Fund – Implementation of a transformative initiative focused on disability rights and climate justice and the  Embassy of the United States of America – “Dobha Uphile-Nhonga Urarame-Pick for Survival” initiative among others.

“These achievements reflect our strategic direction, and we are thrilled to have come this far. Additionally, ZSG has been recognized as an implementing partner and data provider in key government documents, including the National Development Strategy 1 and Nationally Determined Contributions.

“ZSG has received several awards with the recent awards having been received recently on 30 November. This is a true indication that the organisation is doing well and keeps up the momentum and do more,” she said.

Charera-Chipepera also hailed the management board for providing astute management advice and exceptional leadership which has spurred the ZSG impact.

The board is made up of  Veronica Jakarasi   – Finance and Administration, Michael Chideme     – Communications and image building, A. Matiza  – Compliancy and policy, Engineer E. Makaure    – Operations and Strategy.

“All these endeavours culminated into the awarding of the Harare Sustainable City Initiatives (HSCI) programme, supported by SIDA through UN-Habitat. This transformational project for both the communities and this organization. These achievements reflect our strategic direction, and we are thrilled to have come this far,” the board chair said.

She added the sstrategic planning workshops are crucial for an organisation because they provide a roadmap for achieving short, medium and long-term objectives, identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.
