Mutapa Champions Zero Tolerance for Corruption with Bold Integrity Pledges

Business Reporter
The Mutapa Investment Fund (MIF) has taken a decisive stand against corruption by having its portfolio companies sign integrity pledges with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC). CEOs of Mutapa Gold Resources, Mutapa Platinum Group, Mutapa Energy Resources, and Mutapa Base Metals formally committed to upholding strict accountability, transparent management of public resources, and a zero-tolerance approach to corruption.
ZACC’s executive secretary, Shepherd Manhivi, emphasized that this initiative goes beyond compliance—it is about building an enduring culture of integrity and ethical leadership across all Mutapa-owned entities. The pledges are voluntary, signaling each company’s commitment to strengthening internal controls and rooting out corruption from within.
To reinforce these efforts, the companies will:
- Establish integrity committees to oversee anti-corruption measures
- Provide ongoing training on ethical conduct and resource management
- Implement and enhance whistleblower facilities for anonymous reporting
Mutapa Gold Resources CEO, Patrick Shayawabaya, highlighted the trust placed in them to manage national assets and noted the company’s proactive steps—such as robust internal controls and whistleblower channels—to safeguard resources with total transparency.
Mutapa Platinum Group CEO, Munashe Shava, stressed that strong governance and transparency are essential as they launch major projects involving multiple stakeholders, ensuring every transaction is above board.
Mutapa Energy Resources CEO, Innocent Rukweza, welcomed the creation of integrity committees as a proactive way to predict and prevent corrupt activities before they occur.
Mutapa Base Metals CEO, Godwin Gambiza, said the new committees and stronger governance systems are especially timely as the company pursues substantial investment opportunities.
Overall, the Mutapa Investment Fund is leading efforts to embed zero-tolerance for corruption deep within its operations, setting a powerful example in the management of Zimbabwe’s strategic state assets and boosting trust among citizens.
