ZRP floats US$1 000 reward for information on Mkwananzi’s whereabouts

THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has offered US$1 000 cash reward to anyone who supplies credible information leading to the arrest of the newly appointed Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) spokesperson, Promise Mkwananzi.
Political analysts believe that the case is politically motivated after the recent ‘resurrection’ of a case which allegedly took place in 2019.
In a statement Thursday evening, ZRP appealed for information in connection with the current location of Promise Mkwananzi and his other two accomplices Clayd Mashozhera and Noel Manhuweyi.
“Mkwananzi is facing two counts of contravening section 22 (2) € of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act and contravening section 187 (1) (b) as read with subsection 36 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform.
“The suspect defaulted court proceedings and was duly issued with a warrant of arrest under Harare Central CR 2627/07/19 and Harare Magistrate Court CRB 12115/19,” said the ZRP.
The statement states that Clayd Mashozhera and Noel Manhuweyi are facing three counts of assault and Malicious Damage to property after allegedly beating four compalainants and settying their vehicle on fire in Sunningdale ,Harare on 23rd August 2023.
“A reward of of US$ 1 000 cash is being offered to anyone who supplies credible information leading to the location and subsequent arrest of the suspects,” the statement added.
