Govt hikes Petrol prices to US$2,17 per litre

Business Reporter
The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has increased the price of petrol to US$2.17 per litre. This latest hike is attributed to rising global oil costs and supply chain disruptions linked to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East
The current fuel prices in Zimbabwe are as follows:
- Petrol (Blend E20): US$2.17 per litre (up from US$1.71).
- Diesel (D50): US$2.05 per litre (up from US$1.77)
ZERA recently moved to bi-weekly or immediate price reviews to prevent fuel shortages and arbitrage.
Zimbabwe continues to have some of the highest fuel prices in the SADC region, largely due to a heavy tax and levy structure—including carbon tax, road levies, and strategic reserve levies—which can account for over US$0.50 of the pump price.
