THE Hills Lifestyle Estate, a secure gated community nestled in the lush greenery of Zimbabwe’s first USGA-length golf course construction is on course, with over 1 000 downstream jobs created so far.
This ultra-luxury estate in Harare’s New North is geared to redefine modern living with a full suite of residential, commercial, and recreational offerings. The budding community is located at the corner of Princes Road and Sherwood Drive, The Hills is where luxury, lifestyle, and leisure converge.

Speaking to The Humanitarian Post, WestProp Holdings CEO Ken Sharpe expressed confidence on the progress made so far.
“With the percentage completed so far? I would say around 20 to 30 percent of the golf course has been completed. They’ve promised us the designer, the architect and his team by the end of this year we’ll have nine holes completed with grass planted with the irrigation system working so when you come back in December we’d like to see a picture like that for those nine holes which is on the western side the phase one and then next year they’ll go into the other nine holes and have it finished by the end of next year to open the golf course.
“On the infrastructure side on the servicing as we said we’re probably about 70% or 80 % of the roads and the infrastructure completed hopefully in July they’ll finish the surfacing and we’ll start construction,” he said.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of a tour by the Harare Metropolitan Province Minister, Charles Tawengwa last Friday who also hailed the works being done by WestProp for promoting development and creating jobs in the capital City.
The WestProp CEO said the Hills development comes at a time when the American embassy has invested US$ 30 million into building an embassy closeby with the Parliament of Zimbabwe having also injected over US$200 million in the new building.
“I can just say it’s the grace of God and glory to God because he’s always placed us in the right place at the right time. Back then if we had done the development it would not be looking as beautiful as it is now . We would have done a middle income with the housing around us we would have blended into the neighborhood a middle income kind of suburb and some improvements to the golf course but today we are proud to say we’ve taken that extra step to raise the bar to the ultra highest level.
“There’s no other course in Africa. This is the second PGA course in Africa that will be of the standard. There’s no other development in Africa that’s bringing branded residences as we are doing today,” he said.
He said the company has done the extraordinary, the impossible in a location where it really was looking impossible.
“Why would someone choose this location over Borrowdale where the money is and where everyone wants to be. So we’re shifting that mindset from Borrowdale l to the west to say come and place yourself we as a family are going to move here to live here. So we’re putting our money where our mouth is and we believe this is the urban oasis that we’re creating of tranquilly of nature of 126 hectares of land that will be 87% open space. It’s got so many benefits that we’d forget about Borrowdale,” he added.
