The Hills Golf Estate Tees Up a New Era for Zimbabwe

By Sports Writer

Harare is gearing up for a golf revolution as The Hills Luxury Golf Estate prepares to launch its dazzling new 18-hole championship course in March 2027.

Once the heartbeat of Zimbabwean golf, The Hills is making a major comeback, ready to welcome both seasoned pros and newcomers.

Designed by the legendary Peter Matkovich, this course promises not just lush greens but a world-class golfing challenge, with strategic fairways, tricky hazards, and premium rye grass greens all set to impress.

Westprop chief executive Mr Ken Sharpe confirmed the March opening timeline.

“It is all set. We are expecting a good crowd to witness the first tee-off in March next year. We are putting the final touches in readiness for March”, he said.

The excitement is real—top international players are expected for the grand opening, underscoring The Hills’ leap to the big leagues of African golf. Local golf commentator Addmore Chaga is already calling it “the Steyn City of South or Abu Dhabi Golf Course standard.”

That’s a level-up no one wants to miss!

The Hills’ rich history includes grooming legends like Mark McNulty, Nick Price, and Tony Johnstone. Now, under the vision of Westprop CEO Ken Sharpe, it’s poised to inspire a new generation while giving Zimbabwe’s entire golf-tourism scene a major boost.

Come March 2027, The Hills isn’t just opening a course—it’s opening the door to a new era, blending sporting legacy, modern luxury, and a promise of unforgettable moments for locals and international visitors alike.
