These are the latest details that we are aware of regarding travel to Zimbabwe, during Covid-19. We live in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and will update this page with any amendments that we become aware of. We actually contact the Port Health Authority to get the correct information, rather than reading press releases which are often inaccurate.

Vaccinated Travellers

• Fully vaccinated travellers need to present proof of vaccination on entry to Zimbabwe and on exit. No PCR test is required.
• Fully vaccinated means complete doses of a vaccine, i.e., two doses of a two dose regiment or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
• Partially vaccinated travellers will need to follow the same rules as unvaccinated travellers (as below).

Unvaccinated/Partially Vaccinated Travellers

• All partially vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers are required to present a negative PCR COVID-19 Clearance Certificate obtained within 48 hours of boarding.
• On departure, a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours is required.

Children

Travellers under 12 years old are exempt from vaccination and PCR test requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one get a PCR test done in Zimbabwe and Where?
Yes, PCR tests are available at most clinics and hospitals throughout Zimbabwe. In Victoria Falls, the Bio Express Lab, Health Bridge clinic, Lancet Laboratories, GoPath, Lordsland Medical Laboratories, Cimas Medical Laboratories, MARS and Interpath Laboratories offer PCR tests. In Victoria Falls you can also arrange for these Labs to come to your hotel to test you.

Zimbabwe is registered on the Trusted Travel Initiative Platform and it is preferable to have your departing PCR test done at the Bio Express, Lordsland or Lancet Laboratories in Victoria Falls, who are accredited with this platform. However, this is not an absolute requirement at this stage and test results from other non-accredited labs are also accepted.

How much does a PCR test cost?
The price for a PCR test is between $30 and $60. It costs a bit extra for the lab to come to your hotel. Prices may differ depending on the testing centre.

How long does it take to get the results?
The results are on average taking 2 to 6 hrs.

Does my PCR test need to be registered on the Trusted Travel Initiative platform?
Zimbabwe is registered on the Trusted Travel Initiative Platform and it is preferable to have your departing PCR test done at the Bio express lab, Lancet or Lordsland lab in Victoria Falls who are accredited with this platform. However, this is not an absolute requirement at this stage and test results from other non-accredited labs are also accepted.

Will I still need a PCR certificate if I am fully vaccinated?
No.

Are there curfew hours in Zimbabwe?
Yes, there is a curfew from midnight to 5:30am.

Does Zimbabwe have a high rate of Corona virus infections?
It is difficult to compare the numbers of cases with other countries as the amount of testing done in Zimbabwe is very few comparatively. However, the death rate attributed to the corona virus is very low at about 0.036% of the population as of the date of this article. Victoria Falls itself has seen comparatively very little evidence of the corona virus.

Can I fly into Livingstone Airport and out of Victoria Falls Airport?
