Zim Covid19 cases rise to 885 as 43 locals test positive

ZIMBABWE’s Covid19 confirmed cases have risen to 885 amid reports that 43 more locals tested positive.

According to the latest update 98 cases tested positive for Covid19 today. These include returnees from Botswana 28, South Africa 22 Swaziland 1 and 47 local cases who are isolated.’

43 of the local cases are contacts of known confirmed cases, investigations are underway to establish the source of infection for the other four local cases.

Matabeleland North province reported five new recoveries.

Today 136 Rapid Diagnostic Tests screening tests and 606 PCR tests were done. The cumulative number of tests done to date is 82 077 and 47 311 RDT and 34 766 PCR.

To date the total number of confirmed cases is 885 recovered 206 active cases 670 and 9 deaths since the onset of the outbreak on March 20 2020.
