Zanu-pf pins CCC activists in Gokwe violence, counter allegations suspected

THE ruling Zanu-pf party has nailed Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) supporters as perpetrators in a violence incident involving its members which took place over the weekend.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has however not yet released details of the incident.
State media reported Sunday that CCC supporters attacked and injured ZANU PF supporters in Gokwe-Nembudziya this Sunday.
Those injured are receiving medical attention at Gokwe North District Hospital.
The ZANU PF supporters were attending a voter registration mobilisation and awareness meeting at Mtora Growth Point.
Police are yet to issue a statement, but reports say one person has been arrested.
However , the report has triggered fears that the ruling party could be out to soil the opposition’s image in stage managed counter violence allegations to water down initial CCC violence reports.
