U.S Embassy in Zim unveils Typographies Of A Dream Exhibition

By Arts Writer
The Embassy proudly launched the “Typographies of a Dream” exhibition at The Friendship Bench, celebrating the enduring power of freedom and hope.
Five Zimbabwean visual artists created works inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech, exploring what freedom means across generations and cultures.
With virtual mentorship from American art organization Talking Dolls, these artists brought fresh perspectives to a timeless call for equality and creative economy advancement.
The exhibition is being hosted at the Friendship Bench Hub in collaboration with Animal Farm Artist Studios and Residency and Talking Dolls. It showcased a strong collection of prints created over a two-month residency, exploring personal and collective “dreams”.
The event was officially opened by U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Pamela M. Tremont, who praised the artists’ creativity and the role of art in fostering unity.
The project forms part of cultural exchange efforts, fostering local artistic talent and providing a platform for visual storytelling through typography and printmaking
