Sharpe Business Academy (SBA) has launched SBA NextGEN, a six-month program starting in January 2027 to help school leavers transition smoothly from secondary school to further education, work, or entrepreneurship.
The program is limited to 20 participants and enrolment is now open.
SBA NextGEN is designed for young people who may take a gap year, are undecided about their career path, or need time to secure funding for tertiary education. The program teaches practical business, digital, and entrepreneurial skills, combining about 70% hands-on learning with 30% classroom instruction.
“Participants will learn how businesses operate, including finance, marketing, and operations. They will also develop digital skills using tools like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and get an introduction to Artificial Intelligence. The entrepreneurship section covers identifying opportunities, market research, business models, pricing, and testing ideas,” SBA said in a statement.
Throughout the six months, participants will complete projects and assignments to build a portfolio that showcases their skills. The program also offers opportunities for business visits, mentorship, and workplace exposure when possible.
High-performing participants may be considered for internships, apprenticeships, or employment within SBA’s network, though these are not guaranteed. The program aims to give young people the experience and skills to better compete for future opportunities or pursue their own business ventures.
The fee for the full six months is US$600, with flexible payment options available. Applicants must commit to attending and participating fully in the program.
