Sen Timveous hails ED for national dress, Byo event

SENATOR Lillian Timveous has hailed President Emmerson Mnangagwa for introducing a national dress and for taking the Independence Day commemorations to the second largest city of Bulawayo.
The commemorations were held under the theme: “Leaving no one and no place behind.”
The country’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa held the celebrations at the Barber Fields Stadium on the outskirts of Bulawayo, the country’s second largest city in line with the Government’s devolution thrust.
This is also the first time Zimbabwe has held its Independence Day celebrations outside the capital Harare since its independence.
Commenting on the latest developments, Timveous saluted the head of state for the initiatives which brought equality between the country’s regions.
“It is an honour being part and parcel of a big team led by our President Emmerson Mnangagwa who brought the Independence Day Commemorations to Bulawayo for a historic event.Second Republic has broken a record which makes the nation proud.
“Ko Bulawayo sithokozile bakithi.Nyika inovakwa neven vayo. Through the National dress we have been given an identity which follows in the same footsteps as the Nigerians who took a lead in that area long back,” she said.
