Munyaradzi Kereke claims Supreme Court judge George Chiweshe pursued improper relationships with two of his wives while he was serving a 10-year prison sentence.
In explosive but untested allegations, Kereke says Chiweshe repeatedly summoned Patience Taruvinga Muswapadare to his offices and claims the alleged conduct “eventually broke my marriage”.
He makes a similar allegation involving Isabel Chirapura, claiming that Chiweshe offered her whisky and other drinks during late-night meetings.
The allegations are now part of JSC disciplinary proceedings against Chiweshe—but the judge has approached the High Court seeking to stop a hearing scheduled for September 9.
Chiweshe has not substantively answered the claims involving the women in the papers reviewed. Instead, he argues that the disciplinary committee unlawfully added them to an inquiry originally limited to four allegations involving money, a vehicle transaction, company documents and a possible gold-mining interest.
He accepts that a vehicle sale and discussions about a gold claim and company documents took place, but denies “bribery, extortion, corrupt purpose or conspiracy”.
None of Kereke’s allegations has been tested, and the High Court matter remains pending.
