Family of six now requires US$302 for monthly expenses- ZIMSTAT

A family of six now requires ZWG7 872 just equivalent to US$302 to meet their monthly needs according to the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency data.
The latest report shows that the Total Consumption Poverty Line (TCPL) for one person was ZWG 1,312.17 in March 2026.
“This means that an individual required that much to purchase both non-food and food items as at March 2026 in order not to be deemed poor. The TCPL represents the minimum total income needed for an individual) not to be deemed poor,” Zimstat said.
The Food Poverty Line (FPL) for one person in March 2026 was ZWG 896.49. This means that the minimum needs basket cost that much per person in March 2026. Food Poverty Line represents the amount of money that an individual requires to afford daily minimum energy intake of 2,100 calories.
