ZACC arrests NSSA boss who is currently investigating Mavima scandal

THE Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has arrested National Social Security Authority boss Charles Shava whom sources at the corruption ravaged institution alleged to be investigating Public Service minister Paul Mavima over the corrupt US$400 000 Borrowdale house deal, in a move that undermines the fight against corruption.

Zacc sourecs said the acting NSSA General Manager, was arrested around midday for allegedly paying NSSA doctors allowances irregularly when they were approved by the pension fund’s management.

Shava has been investigating Mavima over the corrupt house deal.

Reports are that Shava Acting CEO NSSA for fraud involving RTGS$12 246 571,48.

The accused altered a Board resolution, which had rejected the proposed allowances for the four NSSA Doctors and caused the HR Manager to pay the allowances without approval, claiming the board had since approved the allowances.

The Accused is detained at Avondale Police station and will appear in court tomorrow .
