‘Talkative’ Gift Amuli booted out of ZIMURA

THE Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (ZIMURA) has officially terminated the membership of musician Gift Amuli following a disciplinary review conducted by the organisation.

In a brief announcement, ZIMURA stated that the decision was reached in accordance with its constitution, internal policies, and membership regulations.

The association emphasised that all disciplinary procedures were followed before the final determination was made.At this stage, ZIMURA has not disclosed the specific reasons that led to the termination, leaving many industry stakeholders awaiting further clarification.

The fallout is a mix of internal whistleblowing, corruption allegations, and an intense personal feud with fellow musician First Farai.The war erupted when Amuli, along with fellow board members Dereck Mpofu and Joseph Garakara (dubbed the “Rebel Trio”), publicly broke ranks with the ZIMURA executive. They held an unauthorized press conference exposing.

The organisation indicated that additional information may be released in a comprehensive statement expected in the near future. Until then, details surrounding the disciplinary process and the circumstances that resulted in the decision remain limited.

The development has attracted attention within Zimbabwe’s music industry, where ZIMURA plays a key role in protecting artists’ rights and managing royalty collections on behalf of its members.
