Palestine forges four MoUs with Zim, commits to strengthen ties

VISITING Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister, Raid Malki has endorsed four MoUs with Zimbabwe amid a commitment to further cement ties between the two nations.

The top envoy is currently in the Southern Africa nation on a visit and has so far met several government officials.

The two countries enjoy cordial relations dating back to the 1970s period resulting in the duo working closely on various areas of co-operation.

The MoUs cover the areas of Diplomatic and Political Consultations, Agriculture and Veterinary Services Cooperation, the establishment and operation of cooperative and development programs, Cooperation in Higher Education and Scientific Research

“Today, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Hon. Prof. Amon Murwira, met the Palestinian Special Envoy and assured the people of Palestine of Zimbabwe’s unqualified support for their quest for independence,” an update from the government said.

The update said Murwira also informed the Palestine that Zimbabwe has introduced various reforms for ease of doing business and called upon the people of Palestine to consider business opportunities in Zimbabwe.

He also invited the Special Envoy to come back and enjoy the tourist destinations of Zimbabwe, a request which he kindly accepted and offered to return with his family.

On Tuesday, the Zimbabwean government hosted a dinner for the visiting Palestinian Special Envoy.
