THE inaugural NetOne-KIDZCAN Golf Tournament concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, bringing together golfers, corporate sponsors and partners to support KIDZCAN’s work with children diagnosed with cancer in Zimbabwe.
Speaking on behalf of NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer Eng. Raphael Mushanawani, the company’s Head of Enterprise Risk and Loss Control, Mr L. Chirindo, said the tournament was intended to raise support for children receiving cancer treatment.
“This tournament was more than a game of golf. It was a platform to stand with children battling cancer, helping KIDZCAN continue providing lifesaving treatment, care, psychosocial support and hope to young patients and their families,” he said.
KIDZCAN is a Zimbabwean organisation that supports children with cancer by providing access to treatment, financial assistance and psychosocial services for patients and their families.
Chirindo said the initiative reflected NetOne’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
“At NetOne, we believe that true connectivity is measured not only by the networks we build, but by the lives we touch. Together, we are connecting communities, restoring hope and giving every child the opportunity to fight for a brighter tomorrow,” he said.
He also thanked the sponsors, golfers and partners who contributed to the event, saying their participation would help support KIDZCAN’s programmes.
“Every swing, every partnership and every contribution brought hope closer to children courageously fighting cancer,” Chirindo said.
The golf tournament was presented as the first edition of what NetOne intends to establish as an annual fundraising event in support of KIDZCAN and childhood cancer awareness in Zimbabwe.
The initiative aims to provide sustained support for the organisation’s ongoing programmes, which include funding treatment and providing care for children living with cancer.
