By Staff Writer

JF Kapnek Zimbabwe Tuesday joined other global counterparts in commemorating World Social Work Day 2023.

World Social Work Day is commemorated to celebrate and promote the contributions of individuals and communities working for society.

The day not only provides a platform to showcase the invaluable role of the profession in society but also to thank and appreciate the hard work of individuals working for the betterment of society.

With World Social Work Day falling this year on Tuesday, March 21, the theme for this year is “Respecting Diversity Through Joint Social Action”. Notably, World Social Work Day is always observed on the third Tuesday of March each year.

“JF Kapnek Zimbabwe joins the rest of the world in commemorating World Social Work Day. Our Child Protection interventions are aimed at addressing the root causes of inequalities.

“Our Social Workers work with caregivers of children and youth with disabilities and with the children themselves to improve care outcomes, to overcome stereotypes and negative social norms surrounding people with disabilities,” said JF Kapnek Zimbabwe.

The organisation said CWDs need access to health services including assistive devices and medication, access to meaningful education & improved educational outcomes, livelihoods , Income Generating Activities (IGAs), and Social Empowerment  for children with disabilities, to improve their lives.
