A cruel fire broke out last night at a shopping mall located the corner of Julius Nyerere and Speke Avenue , opposite Joina City , leaving many people counting losses after goods worth thousands of dollars burnt to ashes.
An electrical fault has been blamed for the inferno.
Hair salons, pharmacies, clothing stores and other retail businesses were reduced to rubble.
Some of the tenants declined to comment as they were trying to come to terms with emotions.
Some men were caught by the police while allegedly trying to steal from shop owners who were removing their goods after a fire broke out at the shopping mall.
