Zanu-PF bigwigs face arrest over land deals

THE ruling Zanu-PF party’s bigwigs involved in illegal land sales are set to taste the bitterness of their corrupt dealings following the government’s decision to rein in them.

The developments come shortly after the ruling party laid bare its own top officials who are mired in illicit land allocations deals with disciplinary measures having been instituted at various levels within the party.

Sources privy to the developments on the ground allege that the government recently established that large tracts of land was clandestinely parceled out by party big wigs without following due procedure.

In a statement,Lands ,Agriculture,Fisheries and Rural Development Minister Dr. Anxious Masuka said the illegal settlers will not regularised.

“The government will not regularise those that settle themselves on state land without procedurally issued tenure documents. The full wrath of the law will be applied in such cases of illegal settlements

“Those found occupying state land without authority will be prosecuted,” he said.

Masuka reminded perpetrators that only the relevant Minister is authorised to issue tenure documents on agricultural land as he administers relevant Acts assigned to him by the President ,His Excellency, Dr E.D Mnangagwa.
He said such acts contravene the Zimbabwe Land Commission Act {Chapter 20:29} and the Gazetted Lands Consequential Provisions Act {Chapter 20:28} o the occupation of state land without lawful authority in the form of a permit and Offer Letter orv a lease.
“Land applications should be made to the District and Provincial Lands offices where applicants should get waiting list allocation numbers .Applicants should use these numbers to track progress on heir applications.
“War veterans have a 20% quota and seperate application register.Yoth have a 20% quota and have a seperate application register.
“Land applications who are recommended for land allocations should wait to get tenure documents before occupying recommended pieces of land,” added Masuka.
