Another fire outbreak hits Glen View 8 complex, who is behind this menace?

Another fire outbreak occurred at around 1:00 a.m. in Glen View 8, popularly known as Old Caledonia, an area that supplies materials to carpenters.
The fire gutted various materials, including glue, nails, timber, paint, thinners, generators and other goods. The total value of the damage is yet to be established.
Our Fire Brigade managed to contain the fire and prevent further destruction. However, the Fire Brigade arrived 22 minutes after receiving the emergency call, against the required response time of 5–7 minutes.
This highlights the urgent need to construct a fire station at the already planned site near Highglen.
Having a fire station closer to Glen View and surrounding areas would significantly improve emergency response times and help protect lives, property and businesses.
Meanwhile, preparations at Chemhanza Home Industry are progressing very well. The facility is expected to accommodate approximately 4,000 traders, making it a major investment in supporting SMEs and formalising informal businesses.
Council has so far invested close to US$500,000 in the project. Several partners have also contributed significantly. One toilet block was donated by the Ministry of Local Government through the CPU Department, while another toilet block is currently under construction as a donation by Dialoge in Shelter Zimbabwe. A borehole has also been donated by Dialogue in Shelter Zimbabwe.
Council has completed the levelling of the site, and installation of clear-view fencing. Construction of the security and administration block is currently about 50% complete. The drainage system has been completed, together with the installation of water and floodlights.
ZESA is currently working on the installation of a transformer to support the development a lot of work already been done.
Daily a lot is happening on the ground, and the project is progressing well through collaboration between the Harare Metropolitan Province, Ministry of Local Government through CPU, Ministry of SMEs, Council and other partners.
The development of Chemhanza Home Industry will provide a safer, more organised and formal trading environment for thousands of entrepreneurs while contributing to economic activity and employment in Harare. Glenview area 8 complex traders all will be relocated to Chemhanza and contruction of a modern highrise Glenview area complex will commence soon after through private Developer.
