Mnangagwa ‘salivates’ at CCC seats ahead of the forthcoming by-elections

By Staff Writer

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is ready to feast on the 15 Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) political party’s seats which are up for grabs in the forthcoming by elections.

The seats fell vacant following the instruction to recall CCC legislators by one Sengezo Tshabangu who claimed to be the latter’s interim secretary general.

The CCC political party has since maintained a distance from Tshabangu and described the whole plot as a gimmick by the ruling Zanu-pf party to snap up a two thirds majority by “hook and crook”.

Government has declared the 9th of December as the date for the by-elections.

In his closing remarks to mark the end of the ruling Zanu-pf’s political party’s 20th National Conference last Saturday,  Mnangagwa showed keen interest to feast on CCC’s “man-made” demise.

“I further call upon all leaders and cadres of the Party, including our Affiliates, to scale up mobilisation activities in all constituencies and wards with pending by-elections scheduled to take place in November and December, respectively.

“These by-elections provide our people another opportunity to democratically kick out the opportunistic, heartless and politically immature puppets of our detractors, who pretend to be opposition political parties,” he said.

Mnangagwa said the Zanu-pf political party will not allow anyone waste citizens time for nothing.

“ZANU PF is a people’s Party; a Party by the people and for the people.

He also expressed confidence in addressing poverty saying the amended 2023 Party Constitution gives impetus, urgency and renewed focus to the socio-economic and political realities of our country towards lifting many out of poverty and into prosperity.

“During the course of the year, we lost one of our Party stalwarts, Cde Joshua Teke Malinga who was the Secretary for People with Disabilities.

“To fill the vacancy, I am appointing, Cde Rose Mpofu of Matabeleland South Province as a Politburo Member and the new Secretary for People with Disabilities,” he said.
