Temba Mliswa has publicly slammed Zimbabwe’s Lands and Agriculture Minister, Anxious Masuka, labeling him a “false prophet” for making grand, unachievable promises.
Mliswa’s criticism was triggered by Masuka’s ambitious pledge to distribute 35,000 tractors to rural villages across the country.
He pointed out that Masuka previously promised 35,000 village boreholes by 2024, a project that remains largely unfulfilled.
“Masuka has a reputation for “audacious proclamations” and ambitious initiatives that lack grounding in reality,” he said.
This clash follows a pattern of intense friction. Earlier in 2026, Mliswa heavily criticized Masuka over land administration, calling him the “bishop of land deals” and accusing him of undermining ZANU-PF party structures while operating primarily as an unaccountable technocrat.
Minister Masuka has previously dismissed allegations regarding improper land management and policy reversals as “mischievous and misguided,” maintaining that his ministry’s frameworks are strictly designed to maximize agricultural productivity.
