Latest: Voter files challenges Raj Modi candidature after filing papers at 4pm

A registered voter has filed an application at the Bulawayo High Court for deputy industry minister Raj Modi to be barred from running for MP in Bulawayo South on the basis that he submitted his papers past the 4PM deadline.

Modi filed his nomination papers after the 4pm deadline on 21 June.

The application is strikingly similar to the case which led to the disqualification of 12 opposition CCC candidates.
Raymond Fudzayi Gombedza, the applicant in the latest case, says the matter is urgent.
