Around 900 Chinhoyi University students have been ordered to leave campus for Chinhoyi High School to make way for ZANU PF conference delegates, with ZINASU condemning the move and students raising concerns over poor study facilities, security risks, and disruption to their dissertations and exams.
The students are being relocated to dormitories at Chinhoyi High School. The move is to make way for delegates attending the ZANU PF 23rd National People’s Conference.
The order has affected students who have fully paid their accommodation fees. Some of them are currently working on dissertations and other final academic requirements.
Students have raised several concerns about the move. They say the high school accommodation does not have adequate reading desks or WiFi. There are also worries about the security of their belongings.
The disruption has affected students preparing for final examinations, completing projects, and working on dissertations.
