THE factional fights in the ruling Zanu-PF Party have taken a nasty twist, with popular businessman Wicknell Chivayo hitting back at the Second In Charge after labeling him a “failed politician”.
This week, Zimbabwe’s Vice President,Constantino Chiwenga fired salvo against the country’s mbingas (popular dealers) for fuelling corruption and bragging about with ill- gotten wealth.
Speculators immediately said the message was directed at Chivayo who is the country’s most popular mbinga.
Having felt the heat Wednesday,Chivayo hit back, lashing out at the Second In Charge in a development marking the escalation of a nasty fight within the ruling Zanu-PF party.
“I will always support President E.D. Mnangagwa and ZANU PF’s vision, and no individual, Big or Small, can instill fear in me to decide otherwise. I will neither be moved by nor shaken by any veiled threats from failed politicians,” which critics said was likely a response to Chiwenga’s remarks.
