Mnangagwa fires Spokes George Charamba?

UNCONFIRMED reports emerging from various sources indicate President Emmerson Mnangagwa has fired his spokesperson, George Charamba.
Charamba, who is Deputy Chief Secretary responsible for Presidential Communications, has lately gained notoriety for his acerbic tongue, which has seen Zimbabwean social media users clamouring for his dismissal on grounds of fanning toxicity.
Mnangagwa, through his Chief Secretary Martin Rushwaya, last Thursday announced the reassignment of ministers July Moyo to the Energy ministry and Edgar Moyo to the Labour and Public Service portfolio, marking the beginning of changes to his team of top aides and military henchmen.
Charamba is strongly rumoured to have been relieved of duties, news that seems to have found worthy takers on social media.
The top aide is said to have been forcibly retired and is now at his farm after the Mnangagwa family, including wife Auxillia and sons, convinced the 82-year-old Zanu PF leader to remove him.
Once late President Robert Mugabe’s spokesperson, Charamba had morphed into an unpopular opinion leader, who has in the past lashed out at foreign leaders in undiplomatic fashion.
Charamba has in the past laid into former US Ambassador to Zimbabwe Brian Nichols, Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, former Botswana President Ian Khama, the US and British governments.
He is on record lashing out at respected world group of global leaders The Elders.
The Elders then comprised of late US President Jimmy Carter, former United Nations secretary-general Kofi Annan and Graca Machel.
“I’m told George Charamba was actually fired and this would be the first time that Mnangagwa has listened to the masses, if it’s true.
“Charamba had become an old-fashioned speech writer, full of toxin, in a modern world which appreciates political correctness,” tweeted popular character Majaira Jairos.
His comments were further strengthened by exiled former Cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere who spent the day mocking Charamba.
Charamba himself, an active user of X, did not make anything easier as he spent the day offline.
“Charamba, Mhofu Maswerasei. Paita Shumba panze! Musabuda pazhe,” said Kasukuwere.
Charamba has been known not to shy away from publicly threatening human rights defenders with arrest or killings. His latest victim was Fadzayi Mahere, a former Member of Parliament (MP) whom he said needed some time behind bars, in an argument, so as to raise her literacy level.
“If the suspense and uncertainty as to whether or not failED Mnangagwa has fired his uncouth spokesperson George Charamba is killing us like so, imagine what it must be doing to the evil disloyal fool himself,” said Tich Ray.
