Business Reporter

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has abruptly cancelled his scheduled appearance at the Mine Entra exhibition in Bulawayo, with no official explanation provided for the last-minute decision.

Officials and journalists who had gathered at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport awaiting the President’s arrival were instructed to “stand down and leave the airport.”

No reasons were given for the cancellation, and authorities had not issued an official statement at the time of publication.

Mnangagwa had been expected to attend the annual Mine Entra exhibition, one of Zimbabwe’s premier mining industry events, which brings together government officials, mining companies, equipment manufacturers and investors to showcase developments in the sector.

The unexpected cancellation comes after preparations had already been made for the President’s arrival, leaving delegates and members of the media awaiting clarification from government.

Officials are expected to provide further details once an official explanation is issued.
