YADAH has refuted viral social media claims indicating their midfielder workhorse Tanaka Shandirwa has moved to CAPS United.
The speculative reports were prompted by viral pictures of Shandirwa in the company of CAPS United owner Farai Jere and coach Lloyd Chitembwe which circulated Tuesday.
“We have noted with concern the pictures of Caps United owner, Farai Jere, Caps United coach, Lloyd Chitembwe and Tanaka Shandirwa which have gone viral on social media, misleading the general public and the football fratenity that Tanaka Shandirwa has joined Caps united.
“The Yadah administration wishes to inform the public that Tanaka Shandirwa has a running contract with Yadah FC. Further to that, Yadah FC wishes to inform the concerned football fratenity that no club has made formal engagement pertaining to Shandirwa’s deal,” read a statement released by the club Tuesday.
It further stated that Shandirwa remains their player and is currently on loan to Dynamos albeit his contract with Yadha still subsists.
The club also dismissed reports that Shandirwa was on sale citing that they need him next season.
” Shandirwa will be an important cog for Yadah FC next season. Yadahz FC is not willing to invite any prospective suitor to the negotiation table,” the club stated.
Shandirwa’s reported move to the Green Machine comes weeks after the Glamour Boys suspended him for allegedly “displaying disrespect and disdain for (Dynamos) leadership” at a time the club’s players were on strike.
