Harare City Council A/Chamber Secretary to receive top legal award

 THE Harare City Council’s Acting Chamber Secretary, Warren Chiwawa is set to receive an award from the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network.

A letter signed by the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network official Adrian Kathemba notified the top official on the developments.

“This letter serves as a friendly reminder for the much-anticipated event that will be an epoch-making day as the annual Distinguished Legal Doyens of Reputeawards ceremony will take place. You will rightfully take your place on stage to receive the acknowledgement due to you and the award. 

“We have set two precedents, consistently recognizing and awarding professionals that embody service excellence of the highest order and being a networking platform of great repute,” said the invite in part.

The event is set to be held at Cresta Hotel Msasa where leading conveyancers, legal brains of distinction, exemplary managing partners, boutique law firms and a host of legal captains will be in attendance.

Holder of a Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree  from the University of Zimbabwe , a Masters of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the National University of Science and Technology , a Master of Laws Degree (International Law) from the University of Zimbabwe, he is currently the board chairperson for Rufaro Marketing Board , director and board member at Sunshine Development Pvt Ltd.      

Chiwawa has a long history in the legal fraternity having worked in the Attorney General’s office as a Senior Law Officer in charge of legislative drafting before joining the cotton industry as a legal adviser.

He has worked for the HCC for the last decade after starting off from humble beginnings as a senior law officer and rose through the ranks to become principal legal officer , chief legal officer and is the acting chamber secretary since 2021.
