ZWG monthly inflation rate holds steady at 0,6%

THE ZWG inflation rates have held steady absorbing the impact of the US-Iran war to maintain a healthy margin at the current 0, 6% monthly rate.
The US-Iran war has left a trail of destruction on global supply chains, driving up freight costs, spiking raw material prices, and threatening energy and fertilizer deliveries. With key chokepoints like the Strait of Hormuz compromised, the operational footprint of international trade has faced cascading logistical delays and cost surges.
But the latest data published by the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (Zimstat) Friday revealed that the ZWG has held steady, with month-on-month inflation rate was 0.6 percent in June 2026, gaining 0.1 percentage points on the May 2026 rate of 0.5 percent.
“The ZWG year-on-year inflation rate (annual percentage change) for the month of June 2026 as measured by the all-items ZWG Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 4.7 percent, gaining 0.3 percentage points on the May 2026 rate of 4.4 percent,” the stats agency said.
During the period, the USD month-on-month inflation rate for June 2026 was 0.1percent shedding 0.2 percentage points on the May 2026 rate of 0.3 percent.
The USD year-on-year inflation rate (annual percentage change) for the month of June 2026 as measured by the all-items USD Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 3.1 percent, gaining 0.3 percentage points on the May 2025 rate of 2.8percent.
The USD month-on-month inflation rate for June 2026 was 0.1percent shedding 0.2 percentage points on the May 2026 rate of 0.3 percent.
“The USD year-on-year inflation rate (annual percentage change) for the month of June 2026 as measured by the all-items USD Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 3.1 percent, gaining0.3percentagepointson the May 2025 rate of 2.8 percent,” Zimstat said.
The Weighted month-on-month inflation rate was 0.2 percent in June 2026, shedding 0.2 percentage points on the May 2026 rate of 0.4 percent.
“The weighted year-on-year inflation rate (annual percentage change) for the month of June 2026 as measured by the all-items Weighted Consumer Price Index(CPI),was 3.5percent,gaining 0.3 percentage point on the May 2026 rate of 3.2 percent,” added Zimstat.
