THE Zimbabwe National Roads Administration’s (ZINARA) generosity has positively impacted vulnerable communities in a positive gesture of giving back to the communities.
The organization’s recent Annual Report details a number of community based projects initiated during the period which include handing over donations to the Chambuta Children’s Home in Chiredzi .
The home offers disadvantaged children an opportunity to attend school and learn life skills, provides access to food and clean water among other facilities.
The home was renamed in honor of Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa for her efforts to improve the home.
During the year, ZINARA also donated sanitary dignity packs to more that 200 girls at Gosha Secondary School near Juru Growth Point in Mashonaland East Province.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Zinara revenue operations director,Mrs Patience Shuro said the organization believes in uplifting lives, adding that the empowerment of communities is central to its values and mission.
“As Zinara we are deeply committed to the well- being of communities we serve. Supporting causes that address education and health challenges is not only our responsibility, but a reflection of our core values.”
During the period, donations of blankets and food were also carried out in Masvingo and Bonda Orphanage and Drefontain.
The roads administrator also handed over to St Francis Home for the mentally and physically handicapped children in Bulawayo which include blankets, soaps, cooking oil, rice, stationery, books, drinks and flour.
ZINARA head of corporate communication and marketing Mrs Tsungie Manyeza said the organisation is a strategic social partner committed to work closely with all stakeholders in communities it operates from.
“Through our corporate social responsibility policy, we believe we have a contract with communities that we work from and it is our duty to invest in them.”
These CSR activities, apart from fulfilling a philanthropic call, went a long way in improving ZINARA brand perception during the period under view.
