ZINARA floats flexible payment plan for motorists in arrears

THE Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) has unveiled a new flexible payment plan to help vehicle owners clear outstanding licensing arrears and penalties. Announced on October 15, 2025, the initiative aims to ease the financial burden on motorists and will be available until December 15, 2025.
The scheme targets those who owe at least US$400 in arrears and penalties, particularly individuals with more than five unpaid terms. Pensioners with arrears exceeding five terms are also eligible, regardless of the amount owed.
In a statement, ZINARA explained that the flexible payment option is designed to assist motorists in bringing their accounts up to date while ensuring that their vehicles remain properly licensed. “We are excited to offer a solution for our customers who are behind on payments and wish to resolve their outstanding balances,” the authority said.
The payment plan divides the total amount owed into three manageable installments. In the first phase, vehicle owners must pay their current licensing fee along with 40% of their outstanding arrears. The second phase requires the payment of the current fee plus 35% of the remaining balance, and the final phase will clear the last 25%. Motorists who fail to meet the terms at any stage will be disqualified from the plan and will not be able to rejoin.
The offer is available at all ZINARA licensing offices across the country. Applicants are required to present a valid national ID, proof of residence, and the vehicle registration book in their name. If the vehicle is not registered in the applicant’s name, a valid agreement of sale must be provided.
ZINARA also urged individuals already participating in the payment plan to continue making payments into the new year, noting that no new applications will be accepted after December 15, 2025. For more details, customers can contact ZINARA via WhatsApp at +263 772 452 776 or email info@zinara.co.zw.
