Zimbabwean care worker jailed for sex offence in the UK

A Zimbabwean national working in the United Kingdom’s care industry has been jailed after admitting two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder at his work place.
Nelson Ncube, 57, of Gratian Close, Highwoods, Colchester, was handed the sentence by the Ipswich Crown Court Tuesday.
According to authorities in Britain, Ncube, a healthcare assistant, committed the offences place between late 2020 and early 2023 while working at a mental health hospital in Colchester.
During trial, the court was told that Ncube was engaged in long shifts, sometimes lasting up to 12 hours.
Part of his duties involved observing his victim, whose room was adjacent to the nurses’ station and under camera surveillance.
However, Ncube allegedly took the patient to some blind spots in areas such as a storage area and patient toilets.
The victim was detained under the Mental Health Act.
She was described as acutely unwell during the period of abuse.
