Zim Covid19 cases still at 31 as Gogo Nguni’s 69 contacts are traced

ZIMBABWE’s confirmed Coid19 cases have remained at 31 as recoveries increased to five and deaths stood at four.
The details were confirmed in a Health Ministry update of Sunday May 26 2020.
“We would like to report that today a total of 328 tests were carried out giving a total of 6 395 screening and diagnostic tests done today were negative for Coid19 keeping our confirmed cases at 31,” said the statement.
The Health Ministry said it continues to be on high alert for Covid 19 pandemic highlighting that all contacts of the late Gogo Nguni.
“ As part of intensified surveillance and contact tracing, the ministry has to date identified samples for 69 contacts of the late case number 27,” the update said.
“It was also noted that Case 29 and 30 reported yesterday involve a male and a 46 year old female and 66 years old male patients respectively both are residents of Mhondoro and were contacts of the late gogo Nguni,” said the statement in part.
Case #31 reported yesterday is a male Zimbabwean who returned from the United Kingdom around April 13
The Ministry continues to be on high alert and reminded people on ways to protect themselves from the virus and urges anyone with suspicious symptoms to report through toll free number 2019.
