By Staff Writer

THE Zimbabwe Anti-Sanctions Trust (ZAST) has condemned the attacks on Palestinians by Israeli forces and pledged to stand by the former in the wake of decades old attacks.

In a statement ZAST president, Doctor Norbert Hosho   said attacks by Israeli forces in the Gaza strip were uncalled for and must stop forthwith.

“As the Zimbabwe Anti-Sanctions Trust (ZAST), we strongly condemn the murdering of innocent Palestinians, including children and women by Israeli forces and warplanes during the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip.

“ZAST reaffirms its steadfast sympathy and support for the palestinian people. We extend our thoughts and sympathy to the families and friends of those who perished, were injured, or are still missing because of the brutal attacks,” he said.

Meanwhile, the ZAST has pledged to support the Government and people of Palestine in every way possible and asks the government of Zimbabwe to join in the global humanitarian campaign and to provide support for the Palestinian people.

“In the face of the ongoing attacks, we reiterate our unwavering support for Palestine. Just as they have stood with other people in need across the world, we will continue to stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine.Long live Palestine!,” he said.

Meanwhile ,the CITIZENS AGAINST ECONOMIC SANCTIONS [CAESZimbabwe] Executive Director Mr Martin Zharare, the National Executive Council and the entire CAES Structures and membership countrywide also strongly  condemned the  unjustified and brutal killing of unarmed  Palestinian civilians by apartheid Israel.

The movement said for years Israeli military forces have massacred thousands of Palestinians in their quest to fully control the land of Pslestine which by right is Palestinian without condemnation of the world powers.

“The quietness of the mainstream media in those henious barbaric atrocities was defeaning.CAES stands firmly in solidarity with the people of Palestine in their quest for total and unconditional independence and their resolve against  Israeli occupation. We strongly condemn the recent killing of 508 Palestinians who included unarmed woman and children.

“Our solidarity remembers the 2271 men, women and children who were injured in Israeli forces and warplanes attacks during the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip,” the civil society organisation said.

CAES strongly castigated the selective application of human rights by the United States of America and its allies who by day preach good practices yet by night suppress the fundamental right to life.

America was accused of  arming Israel to the teeth with deadly weapons used to suppress and massacre a people who are determined to free their selves from occupiers of their land and as CAESZimbabwe amid calls for  the United Nations to be partial and vocal to call Israel and America to solve the Palestinian crises as declared at Camp David.

“We also call upon the international media houses not to be biased in their reportage in favour of the Zionist Israel.

“To the people of Palestine we as CITIZENS AGAINST ECONOMIC SANCTIONS we are in support of your fight for total emancipation and  your fight for  sovereignity as we also fight for the removal of unjustified illegal and  punitive  economic embargo imposed on our independent country of Zimbabwe by the American imperialists,” the organisation added.
