PROPERTY market game changer firm, WestProp Holdings Limited CEO and founder, Ken Sharpe is set to headline the ZIMREAL 2025 Conference where attendants are warming up to tap into the tycoon’s acumen.

The country’s premier property investment conference, taking place on August 21 st  under the theme “Cementing Growth and Growing Value”, will spotlight emerging trends such as data and Ai; explore property investment and fund raising strategies; and showcase the resilience and creativity driving Zimbabwe’s urban evolution.

This years’ conference will be preceded by an Awards Dinner on the 20th  that will celebrate excellence across multiple categories including: women in real estate, outstanding retail and hospitality developments as well as leading innovators, alternative asset developers and newsmakers.

API Events, ZIMREAL 2025 organisers, highlighted the award recipients were selected based on proven performance and evidence that has been backed up by industry peers.

Speaking ahead of the Conference, Ken Sharpe, CEO of WestProp Holdings, ZIMREAL 2025’s lead sponsor said the event will provide an opportunity to consolidate progress and come up with practical steps to sustain the growth and value creation.

“I expect this year’s event to spotlight innovation, celebrate resilience, and foster partnerships that will unlock new capital flows and accelerate urban transformation. This years’ theme resonates with what we, at West Prop, have set as an ambitious and bold mission, to lay one billion bricks by 2025,” Sharpe said.

Zimbabwe’s property sector continues to witness strong momentum in integrated mixed-use developments, gated communities, commercial and retail hubs and alternative assets like healthcare and logistics, which are now seen as essential infrastructure.

ZIMREAL 2025 is expected to address key issues facing the sector including limited access to affordable financing, availability of data, infrastructure bottlenecks, and regulatory uncertainty.

“Public-private partnerships and foreign direct investment are vital in overcoming these challenges,” Sharpe explained. “ZIMREAL is playing a crucial convening role to align policy with private sector innovation.”

A regional property expert, Kura Chihota, noted that the event comes at a critical juncture, when several urban council masterplans are under discussion.

“ZIMREAL is an ideal platform to deepen engagements around the plans because no one can tackle the infrastructure challenges on their own. We need players, including local authorities to share ideas on how to improve their capacity and service delivery so that we can deliver meaningful value for investors,” Chihota said.

He added that this was particularly relevant given the competition for capital to finance real estate projects.

“There are three or four Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) that have come to the market, all looking to attract investors. They need to make a winning investor case to get money. This along with the need to profitably exploit master plans are some of the dominant issues for the sector going forward.”
