WestProp invests over US$250K in uplifting communities; orphans and widows among beneficiaries

THE Victoria Falls Exchange (VFEX) listed property firm, WestProp Holdings Limited will gobble up to US$250 000 by year end in uplifting communities with orphans and widows already among some of the top beneficiaries.

The company has since shaken the market by introducing upmarket residential infrastructure through its multi-billion dollar projects bringing globally acclaimed infrastructure to the local market.

Speaking to The Humanitarian Post on the sidelines of the ZIMREAL Property Investment Forum Wednesday, WestProp’s Finance Director and the Corporate Social Responsibility Department chairperson, Simbarashe Kadye said apart from the core business, the company also has a soft spot for the vulnerable.

“We are guided by the Biblical verse James 1:27 which states that ‘Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being’.

“We appreciate the hardships which befalls society in the event of death. Everyone would agree with me that orphans and widows experience the harshest conditions of life. Accordingly we are running a program which assists orphans with school fees Handouts. The Company is also supporting widows with training and capital to run projects,” he said.

Kadye also revealed that the company works hand in hand with Nyararai Children’s home in Warren Park which has received support in the form of blankets ,bunk beds  and a computer room.

“We are also working in partnership with Northside Community Church where we have supported the gathering of 200 orphans through their Nyanga Annual Conference event among others. Last year the company paid for the entire costs and we hope to do the same this year,” he said.

The company is also supporting child cancer patients and spearheading support for herbal cancer treatment capacity expansion.
