WESTPROP Holdings board chairman Michael Louis says by year end, the company would have created a whopping 1 000 jobs for locals as the noble journey to create environments progresses.
He made the remarks at a recent event to witness the groundbreaking of Pomona City – a new, mixed-use development in Harare popularly known as “city within a city”.
Louis hinted that the projects being undertaken by the entity are will go a long way to unlock vast opportunities for locals.
“By the fourth quarter of this year, we will have 10 projects active across Harare, employing over 1,000 professionals—from security staff to architects—and injecting $174 million into Zimbabwe’s urban renaissance. But this isn’t just economic impact. It’s human impact,” he said.
Speaking on the Pomona project , he said the development is a bold declaration of where Harare is headed, towards the city’s first high-rise development in Harare North.
He said more significantly, it’s the cornerstone of a visionary $4 billion initiative: Pomona City.
“A smart city ecosystem designed to redefine how we live, work, shop, and play. A city within a city, where community isn’t an afterthought – it’s the blueprint,” Louis said.
He said the key features of Pamona Flats are ; 22 blocks, each with 16 units across three floors, delivering 352 spacious apartments in Phase I alone.
Phase 11 is set to be launched soon.
Other facilities will include an AI powered security , swimming pool , gym, and vibrant community activities ,walkable proximity to retail, entertainment and green spaces, generous parking ;530 bays for residents with 178 for guests.
“This scheme offers lucrative deals to corporates and Government agencies to buy whole blocks of apartments for their employees. We are in discussion with financial institutions to fund some of our developments to enable quick delivery of projects.
“We view our projects as a deliberate stance to brand Zimbabwe. We are here to excite the people of Zimbabwe including our brothers and sisters resident in the diaspora who one day would want to come back home,” added Louis.
