UK appoints Peter Vowles as new Ambassador to Zim

Diplomat Peter Vowles has been appointed His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Zimbabwe.
He will assume duty with effect from September 1 2023.
The appointment takes over in succession to Ms Melanie Robinson CMG.
According to his Curriculum Vitae , Vowles is currently the director of the Foreign ,Commonwealth and Development Office, a post that he will leave to take up the new role in Zimbabwe.
He has worked as the UK’s head of mission in Myanmar as Department for International Development director for Asia, Caribbean and Overseas Territories, among other posts.
From 1996 to 1999 he was the policy and progrmme manager for the Students Partnership Worldwide programme in Zimbabwe.
He previously worked as a teacher in Zimbabwe from 1992 to 1993.
