Staff Reporter

It is now 8 months to go before The Hills Luxury Golf Course comes to life. The first official tee-off is set for February.

A progress check on the golf course indicates that all 18 holes have been shaped, with nine already planted, and the final phase of planting is set to finish in the coming weeks. The estate has now entered the grow‑in period, nurturing fairways and greens to international standards.

Management at the golf course have indicated the course will be playable before the end of the first quarter next year, offering enthusiasts an early chance to experience its pristine layout. Already, the driving range has seen a surge in attendance, with many casual visitors converting into members—a clear sign of the excitement surrounding The Hills.

WestProp Holdings chief executive Ken Sharpe expressed his vision for the project: “The Hills is more than a golf course. It is a statement of Zimbabwe’s ability to deliver world‑class sporting facilities. We are creating a destination that will attract both local players and international visitors, strengthening golf tourism and showcasing our country’s potential.”

Sharpe added: “Golf is a lifestyle, and The Hills is designed to meet global standards while celebrating Zimbabwe’s natural beauty. Our aim is to position Zimbabwe as a premier golfing destination, where visitors can play not only in Harare but also in Bulawayo, Victoria Falls, Nyanga, Vumba, Mutare and Chiredzi. The Hills completes this circuit, offering golfers a truly unique experience.”

With its visionary design, international standards, and commitment to excellence, The Hills Luxury Golf Course is set to redefine Zimbabwe’s golfing landscape. For local enthusiasts and global tourists alike, it represents not just a new course, but a new chapter in the story of Zimbabwean sport and leisure.

Partners have already endorsed the golf course predicting it will help define Harare as a sporting hub, considering that the golf course is just a stone throw from the national sports and hockey stadiums.

Within the golf estate there will be other sporting disciplines like swimming, tennis, padel and five-aside soccer.
