SYS delivers SRHR training in Chiredzi

 SHAMWARI Yemwanasikana (SYS) delivered a comprehensive training on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), gender equality, safeguarding and Gender Based Violence (GBV) with key stakeholders.

Zimbabwe has a high rate of teenage pregnancy and a significant unmet need for family planning services, particularly among young women. The country also faces challenges with HIV/AIDS and other STIs, as well as maternal mortality.

“The training emphasized the importance of adhering to safeguarding policies to reduce child marriages in Chiredzi. Through engaging and interactive discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of the critical role safeguarding plays in protecting vulnerable populations.

“The training fostered a collaborative approach to addressing child marriages, equipping stakeholders with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote SRHR,” said SYS.

The program was held with support from AmplifyChange.

The training, SYS said  emphasized the importance of adhering to safeguarding policies to reduce child marriages in Chiredzi.

Through engaging and interactive discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of the critical role safeguarding plays in protecting vulnerable populations. The training fostered a collaborative approach to addressing child marriages, equipping stakeholders with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote SRHR, gender equality, and safeguarding.

“By prioritizing safeguarding policies, stakeholders can work together to create a protective environment for girls and reduce the prevalence of child marriages in Chiredzi, ultimately promoting their rights and well-being. This training was a crucial step towards achieving this goal,” added SYS.
