Sharpe deboards CEO’s office; imparts service delivery values to site workers

IN a historical rare gesture, WestProp Holdings and CEO, Ken Sharpe recently deboarded his esteemed office and spent the day with construction site workers at a Christmas event.
He took the opportunity to acquaint them with the group’s long term vision and called upon them to play their part by prioritising speedy executions of their work to meet customer expectations on housing delivery timelines.
Across organizations, top executives rarely take their time to make such reflections and often sideline key project implementers from playing their part.
Sharpe challenged the construction employees to “be agents of urgency” in line with the company’s promise to customers to deliver quality luxury lifestyle products in time.
Speaking recently at the event held for the Millenium Heights ,Pokugara,Pomona City and the Hills Luxury Golf Estate employees ,the property tycoon highlighted that completing construction tasks was high on the list of “things that employees can do to win his heart”.
“The gift that I want all of you to give me is the gift of urgency as a Christmas gift,” he said.
The event which has become a calendar event at Westprop is meant to reward excellence and allow the workers to interact with senior management and build oneness.
Mr Costain Mashayanyika who was first among the employees to acknowledge the call for urgency was immediately promoted and named the “agent of urgency” and asked to report directly to Mr Sharpe on all issues to deal with urgency of work delivery.
Chief Operating Officer Mrs Tatiana Ellis who organised the end of year party for the employees emphasised the need for adhering to the company culture,
Twenty-four employees were rewarded in various categories of excellence that included hardworking, reliability, honesty, teamwork champion, company culture champion, loyal, customer service, most excellent employee.
All the 59 employees that attended the party walked home with early Christmas gifts.
