Scammers botch unsuspecting job seekers using SOS Children’s Village credentials

UNSUSPECTING victims have fallen prey to scammers who are using the SOS Children’s Village credentials to fleece them into paying fictitious medical bills.
In a statement, the SOS Children’s Village warned members of the public to be wary of such activities and report scammers forthwith.
The organization said they have been made aware of a scam where fraudsters are using the name of SOS Children’s Village International to deceive unsuspecting individuals into paying for medical examination fees of $30 in exchange for an open vacancy.
“Th is a serious attempt to defraud individuals and we urge everyone to be cautious.The organization claiming to be associated with SOS Children’s Village International, called Southern Africa Orphan Care Family Foundation, is not affiliated with us.
“They are using our name and reputation to perpetuate this scam.If you come across an advertisement or job offer (see image) from Southern Africa Orphan Care Family Foundation, do not engage with them or provide any personal or financial information. It is a scam designed to extract money from you,” the organization said in a statement.
Members of the public were urged to be aware that SOS Children’s Village International would never ask potential employees to pay for any fees or compensation to apply or work with us.
“ We are a reputable organization dedicated to providing care and support to vulnerable children, and we do not engage in fraudulent activities.We urge everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities. If you have any concerns or questions about job opportunities, please contact us directly through our official channels,” added SOS.
