SADC receives introduction credentials from Palestine rep in Zimbabwe

THE Executive Secretary of Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) , His Excellency Elias Magosi, Tuesday received Letters of Credence from Dr Tamer Almassri, the ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to SADC based in Zimbabwe.
H.E. Magosi expressed his delight at meeting the envoy and highlighted the key priority areas of SADC as outlined in the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP 20020-2030) and the SADC Vision 2050, which guide SADC’s cooperation with its partners.
“The State of Palestine has a positive relationship with SADC Member States and is in the process of consolidating its relationship with numerous African states in pursuit of creating substantial affiliation with the SADC Region,” said Almassiri.
The SADC Secretariat and the State of Palestine, through the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency (PICA), are negotiating a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that seeks to establish a mutual understanding of their strategic relationship in establishing and implementing programs of cooperation and development.
