RBZ Mushayavanhu celebrates governorship post at his rural home

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor says President Emmerson Mnangagwa – reportedly his relative – has broken Manicaland province dominance on running the central bank by bringing in someone from Masvingo.

Mushayavanhu says previous RBZ governors, including Kombo Moyana, Leonard Tsumba, Gideon Gono and John Mangudya, were all from Manicaland, but Mnangagwa disrupted the pattern.

He was telling his clansmen – family, relatives and friends – in Gutu, Masvingo, at an event to celebrate his appointment as the monetary chief.

Mnangagwa is accused of villagising government by mainly appointing members of his clan and ethnic group to influential positions to run government of the constitution which say state institutions must reflect the diversity and gender equity of the nation
