RBZ digital tokens mops up further ZW$76,1 million

THE Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Gold –Backed –Digital- Tokens latest sales report shows that  a whooping ZW$76,1 million was  mopped up bringing the total quantum of gold sold to 329,3 kgs since the launch of the instrument.

The RBZ GBDT issue number 13/2023 report shows that the instrument continues to positively cream off excess liquid in the economy.

“The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe would like to notify the public of the results of the RBZ Gold Backed Digital tokens Issue no 13 /2023 held on Thursday 17 023.The Bank received five applications valued at ZW$76 188 769 to purchase gold backed digital tokens,” the central bank report said.

Total milligrams of gold purchased 0,24 kgs during the sale.

“Applications under the fourteenth issue of the RBZ gold backed digital tokens should be submitted through the banks during the course of the week for settlement and issuance on Thursday August 31 2023,” the central bank added.
