Patience Mangwiro attended the funeral of her late husband, Commissioner Dr. Martin Muduva, as a grieving mourner amidst a deeply tense atmosphere. Dr. Muduva was laid to rest at his rural homestead in Buhera.
Dressed in a black dress, Patience was spotted among the mourners paying her final respects. She attended the burial as Dr. Muduva’s recently wed second wife.
Her attendance sparked intense debate and mixed feelings. Some onlookers felt her presence was uncomfortable given the tragic circumstances, while others defended her right to mourn her husband as the surviving spouse.
The funeral followed a shocking turn of events in Dzivarasekwa. Just days before the tragedy, Dr. Muduva and Patience had been celebrating their Roora (traditional bride price) day, looking forward to starting their lives together. However, the joyful celebration quickly turned into mourning and a media storm following Dr. Muduva’s sudden and violent death.
