Business Reporter

GAME changer mobile network operator NetOne Cellular’s presence at the ongoing Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) has sent shockwaves of dominance, surpassing other brands in attendance.

The reputable entity is showcasing the OneConnect product which is set to contribute immensely towards the country’s agricultural productivity by increasing efficiencies while lowering the costs of doing business.

There are a series of products on offer which are cross cutting and highly appealing to all customers as well.

Speaking to the Humanitarian Post on the sidelines of the 115th Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) , NetOne Product Manager, Easyway Samusodza said the OneConnect product bridges the gap of agriculture through technology and industry.

The product enables farmers to manage their livestock, water their crops and maximize security issues all in one.

“We have the internet connected surveillance cameras which send real time visuals right to your cellphone on what is happening at the farm. We also have sensors that record the amount of moisture in the soil. So if the soil moisture goes below 50%, a message or a trigger is sent to the automated irrigation system to start irrigating the crops. Farmers can also use their cell phones to kick start the process.

The products can connect farmers to their projects virtually and get to know what needs to manage operations remotely.

Samusodza said the OneConnect product is highly customisable to cover small scale to large scale farming products. Both electricity and solar can be used to power the products.

NetOne’s exhibition at the ZAS is also providing visitors with information and opportunities to engage with the company, often featuring interactive elements, merchandise, and demonstrations of technologies relevant to the agricultural sector and everyday life.

The various digital offerings, such as their OneMoney mobile money service, is also a key feature of the ZAS exhibition.

The event has also been seized  as an opportunity for NetOne to highlight its collaborations and initiatives, such as those focused on education and community development.

Members of the public are encouraged to visit the NetOne Stands for these and other services being showcased.
